Keep calm and stay dry!

It’s no joke!

If you’re desperate to go to the loo and you panic (because you’re frightened you’ll leak) you can actually make it worse/more likely.

If you jump up or rush, you put more pressure on your bladder and the bladder outlet, so your pelvic floor will have to work extra hard to keep the floodgates closed (and if your pelvic floor’s weak, it might not be strong enough to keep control).

Or, simply getting stressed about making it to the loo on time can make the urgency (your bladder going into spasm) worse and so even harder to override.

So, girls, keep calm, don’t rush, and don’t get stressed, and you’re more likely to make it to the toilet on time!

Good luck!
